Other Resources

In addition to the comprehensive atlas initiatives, we take on other significant projects related to the study and understanding of the brain. These projects, which translate into public resources, include a variety of government-funded research programs and unique collaborations with other partner organizations and scientists who share our mission to fuel new discoveries in neuroscience.

The Allen Human Cortex Study is a collection of gene expression data in the adult human brain, including both “normal” and schizophrenic cases.

The Allen Mouse Diversity Study characterizes gene expression in the mouse brain across different genetic backgrounds and sex.

The Allen Sleep Study is a comprehensive collection of gene expression data in the mouse brain for five different conditions of sleep and wakefulness.

The Allen Transgenic Mouse Study provides comprehensive characterization of the expression patterns of genetically controlled marker and tool genes in brains of transgenic mice.

The NIH Blueprint Non-Human Primate (NHP) Atlas is a map of gene expression in the developing rhesus macaque brain.

Future Resources

The Ivy Glioblastoma Atlas Project (GAP)—coming online in 2010—will be a comprehensive 3D map of gene expression in cancerous brain tumor tissue, specifically glioblastoma.
