Workshop
February 22, 2012
8:30am-5:00pm
Seattle, WA
The Allen Institute for Brain Science will be offering a 1-day workshop on Weighted Gene Co-Expression Network Analysis with Applications in Neuroscience and Systems Biology. The workshop will feature guest lecturer Professor Steve Horvath from UCLA, a pioneer in the method, together with Jeremy Miller and Mike Hawrylycz of the Allen Institute. The following topics will be covered in detail:
- Methods for constructing gene networks based on gene expression data (microarray, RNA-seq), DNA methylation data and other high dimensional data
- Module detection algorithms and clustering procedures
- Differential network analysis
- Module preservation statistics
- Intramodular hub genes and module membership measures
- Network visualization methods (connectivity plots, MDS, VisANT)
- Gene enrichment analysis
If you are interested in attending please send a basic vitae or cv to info@alleninstitute.org. In the subject line, please write "February Workshop", and be sure to provide your contact information and institutional affiliation.
Training Workshops
Using the Allen Brain Atlas resources
We conduct in-person training sessions in locations throughout the United States, with plans to visit Canada in 2012. We are also considering one or more sessions in Europe if there is interest, so let us know. There is no cost to attend. Click here for a preliminary 2012 calendar and more information.
