
Paul Wohnoutka, Director, Atlas Operations
Paul Wohnoutka joined the Allen Institute in November 2003 with 15 years of engineering, manufacturing and operations management experience from the pharmaceutical, medical device and aerospace industries. As a senior engineer in the Boeing Company’s manufacturing research and development division, Paul developed, implemented and recommended industrial control and information systems that supported fabrication and assembly of high-tolerance metallic and composite structure for commercial aircraft. Following eight years’ service with Boeing, he spent two years providing project management and engineering expertise for a regional technology service company that provided turn-key information and control systems solutions for the aerospace, wood products and electronics industries.
In 1998, Paul joined Kendall Healthcare, where, as a principal manufacturing engineer he was responsible for automated equipment design and support for the product assembly of AngioSeal, a collagen-based arterial closure device. Following the sale of AngioSeal in 2000 from Kendall Healthcare to St. Jude Medical, Paul joined NextRx and its efforts to develop automated products for safely dispensing, transporting and administering medications in hospital settings. As manager of projects, he led NextRx operations in public, private and government hospitals across the United States.
Paul directs the Atlas data production teams as well as the development, deployment and ongoing support of equipment and systems that generate ABA data. Mr. Wohnoutka holds a B.S. from the University of Alaska-Fairbanks and a M.S. from the University of Washington in mechanical engineering.
