Michael Hawrylycz, Ph.D., Director, Informatics

Mike Hawrylycz received his Ph.D. in applied mathematics in combinatorics at MIT under the late Gian-Carlo Rota. He subsequently served as a post-doctoral researcher in the Computer Research and Applications Group at the Los Alamos National Laboratory. Hawrylycz has worked in a variety of applied mathematics and computer science areas, addressing problems in consumer and investment finance, electrical engineering and image processing, and computational biology and genomics. At the Allen Institute he is responsible for the direction of the informatics effort, including image processing, bioinformatics and data analysis.
