John Hohmann, Ph.D., Associate Director, Data Annotation
John Hohmann joined the Allen Institute in April, 2006 to lead the data annotation team and associated projects for the Brain Atlas Project. John has a PhD in Neurobiology and Behavior from the University of Washington, and is an Affiliate Faculty Member at the UW Department of Medicine. Before joining the Institute, Hohmann led the Physiology Department at Nura, Inc, and prior to that led the Neuroanatomy Department at Primal, Inc. At Primal, he characterized the brain expression of the G-protein coupled receptor superfamily, and was involved in the identification of therapeutic small molecules that interact with these receptors. Hohmann's research interests include using comparative neuroanatomy to define new structure-function paradigms in the brain, and using gene expression to elucidate neuroendocrine circuits in the hypothalamus.
