Maja Chaffe

General Counsel

Maja Chaffe joined the Allen Institute in 2007 with broad legal experience across several industries. She is responsible for the Allen Institute's legal, regulatory and governance affairs. Previously, Chaffe was vice president and associate general counsel at Expedia, Inc. Chaffe was an associate in the corporate and securities practice group at Preston Gates & Ellis (now K&L Gates). An active community volunteer, Chaffe has been involved with numerous local area nonprofit organizations in various capacities, including board member and officer, volunteer, group leader and pro-bono attorney. She holds a B.A. in sociology from the University of Washington and a J.D. from Seattle University School of Law.
