Elizabeth Birlet

Director, Investor Philanthropy

Elizabeth Birlet joined the Allen Institute in 2006 to lead the investor philanthropy division and oversee the Allen Institute’s goal of becoming a self-sustaining nonprofit organization. Birlet has created and managed a succession of philanthropic programs. In addition to serving in an array of nonprofits as a consultant, she has held numerous posts at several academic medical centers. Birlet has a B.A. from Roosevelt University in Illinois and an M.S. in journalism with an emphasis on science from the University of Illinois.
