Robots, Lasers and Terabytes

Our 63,000-square-foot headquarters in Seattle, Washington is a high-throughput facility—home to custom-designed robotic systems, automated digital imaging stations, premier bench laboratory space and all the high-powered computing hardware and software necessary for processing thousands of terabytes of data.

A State-of-the-Art Data Center

Producing, analyzing and creating actionable resources from momentous amounts of data is one part of what happens at our facility. Storing all that information and making those resources available to anyone—anytime, anywhere around the world—is the other. Our data centers host the Allen Institute’s online public resources and house servers and storage clusters that have processed over a petabyte (1,000 terabytes) of data.
